port logan accommodationPort Logan attractions: Accommodation in Portpatrick or in the countryside around the town: Port Logan, formerly Port Nessock, is a little town in the Rinns of Galloway, a few miles across the North Channel from Ulster . The village was planned, established by a Colonel Andrew McDowall, the laird (land proprietor) of Logan in 1818. The town has a quay and lighthouse, designed by Thomas Telford. Port Logan has a part-time post office, small market garden (supply local businesses and the public) and have a pub called the “Port Logan Inn” who serve good real ale and food. Port Logan has a few tourist attractions such as the Logan fish pond, Logan Botanic Garden and a Logan house garden very nearby. The village is also well known for its fishing. This small town has been the setting for a popular BBC series called “Two Thousand Acres of Sky”.
